Day 1
Welcome to Nizny Novgorod!
Upon arrival, meeting with your private guide.
City sightseeing tour
Rozhdestvenskaya Street - the business center of the city of the 19th century. The most powerful merchants’ clans of Russian Empire did their business here. The appearance of the street has remained unchanged since 1896. We will also see the Stroganovs’ Church - the masterpiece of Russian Baroque.
The Kremlin - a mighty medieval fortress, the heart of Nizhny Novgorod. The Kremlin hill offers the most beautiful view of the confluence of the Volga and the Oka
Verkhnevolzhskaya embankment - a favorite walking place for the citizens since 1830s. On the one hand there is the beautiful Volga, on the other hand there are magnificent old mansions
Free time for lunch – 1,5 hours
Excursion to the History Museum in Roukavishnikovs’ Manor – the most fashionable house of Nizhny in the 19th century
Free time along the main pedestrian street of the city - Bolshaya Pokrovskaya (1 hour) - people come here to listen to street musicians, to admire the old buildings, to make a wish at the bronze Merry Goat and to buy souvenirs, of course

City sightseeing tour (2 hours)
Nizhny Novgorod Fair used to be the largest trading place of Europe. Thanks to the Fair Nizhny was known as the "Pocket of Russia"
Historical district over St. Ilya’s hill - the narrow streets and shadowy yards of the Old City, a bizarre mix of all architectural styles from the 17th century to the present day and most breathtaking river views you can only imagine
Excursion to the Museum of Maxim Gorky – an outstanding Russian writer, born in Nizhny
Free time for lunch – 1,5 hours
Walk along the cable car over the Volga (1 hour)
The cable car of Nizhny is the longest and highest air crossing in Europe. Sailing through the air 3.6 km above the river surface in a transparent trailer is pleasant and almost not scary
Tour, 1 hour (transport + walking)
The Pechersky Monastery - a unique monument of Russian church architecture of the 17th century. It miraculously survived the antireligious campaign of 1920s. If there are places where time has stopped, then the Pechersky Monastery is one of them

Tour, 3 hours (transport + walking)
Tour over Gorodets, a charming small town, at least half a century older than Nizhny.
Samovar Museum, the only one in Russia - a collection of 453 samovars of all shapes and volumes.
City of Craftsmen - an exhibition center located in a spacious wooden house, built according to old Russian origins. You will see Gorodets painting, wood carving, clay toys, gold embroidery and people who make it.
