Day 1
Welcome to Sakhalin!
Arrival in Yuzhno - Sakhalinsk. Meeting with guide at the airport.
Transfer to the hotel.
Trip to the coast of the Sea of Okhotsk, visiting lake-lagoon “Tunaicha” and lake “Izmenchivoye” (Changing).
*Lake “Tunaicha” - the second biggest lake of Sakhalin oblast. Av. Width is 6 km, length – 29 km, av. depth – 12.8 m. It is linked with Mordvinov bay by a narrow and shallow channel. The bottom is sandy and beachy. The lake is salty, has a rich vegetable and animal world. 29 species of fish dwell in the lake including precious salmon red eye and crucian carp settled down not long ago.
*Lake “Izmenchivoye” (Changing) is salty and linked via a channel with the Sea of Okhotsk. Av. Width is 2 km, length – 4.2 km, av. depth – 4 m.
A picnic on Warm lakes (fish soup, baked fish, caviar and other far eastern delicatessen). Rest, bathing.

Route “Harbor “Pacific”. There are lagoons, grottos, gorges, waterfalls, breeding grounds of seals, birdy spots and flocks of Japanese cranes in the harbor “Pacific”.
Trip time 2.5 hours (135 km) in one way.
Stop on settlement Vzmorie. There is a chance to buy see food (crab, shrimps) or berries
Arrival to the location. Departing on route.
Lunch – fish soup, red caviar and other far eastern delicatessen (fire lunch).
Return to the hotel in the evening.

Trip time 3 hours (100 km) in one way. Difficult road.
Sea side walks. Grottos, gorges, stone arches.
Lunch – fish soup, red caviar and other far eastern delicatessens.
Return to the hotel in the evening.

Transfer to port of Korsakov. Boarding the steam ship “Igor Farkhutdinov”. Kunashir Island is the southernmost island on the Big Kuril Ridge. Its length is 122 k, width – from 9 to 30 km.
Lodging in 4-persons boat cabins.
Departure of the boat to Kunashir Island. 18 hours transfer to Kunashir.

Route of average complexity «The big fumarole filed of volcano Mendeleyev». Mt. Mendeleyev
(887 m) is located on the surface of the high sea terrace. There are four fumarole fields on the slopes of
the volcano.
It is trekking route 2.5 hours in one way.

Route of average complexity “Mt. Golovnin. Lakes “Boiling” and “Hot”. There are two lakes of volcanic origin in caldera – “Boiling” and “Hot”.
The streams of hydro sulfuric and sulfuric gases, ejections of boiling water, black sand, dense steam and
permanently changing color of water create an impressive picture. And bathing in the lake located in the
crater of the volcano is an impression for the whole life!
It is trekking route 2.5 hours in one way.
Stop time in caldera – 3 hours with a lunch dry ration.
Return to the hotel.
