Meeting with guide at the lobby Excursion to the Holy Trinity-St. Sergius Lavra The Trinity Lavra of St. Sergius is a world famous spiritual centre of the Russian Orthodox Church and a popular site of pilgrimage and tourism. Being situated in the town of Sergiev Posad about 70 km to the north-east from Moscow, it is the most important working Russian monastery and a residence of the Patriarch. This religious and military complex represents an epitome of the growth of Russian architecture and contains some of that architecture’s finest expressions. It exerted a profound influence on architecture in Russia and other parts of Eastern Europe. Excursion to the Toy Museum, followed by a master-class It’s here where authentic Matryushkas are made, the craftsmen keep on mastering their skills strictly following ancient traditions of Matryoshka-making. They will gladly share their secrets, taking you step-be-step through the whole production process. Breakfast at the hotel. Sightseeing city tour, telling the story of our beautiful “Northern Capital” and its bright and eventful history. You will admire panoramic views over the Neva and beautiful central squares as we drive down the central prospects and beautiful city-streets. You will discover all the worldwide famous landmarks of the city: the Spit of Basil (Vasilievsky) Island, Saint Isaac's cathedral, one of the most known landmarks, the Bronze Horseman - an equestrian statue of Peter the Great in the Senate Square, the Field of Mars, the cruiser Aurora and, of course, the picturesque Palace embankment and jaw-dropping Palace Square – the heart of the city that witnessed so many dramatic events, the Winter Palace, Mikhailovsky castle and many many more. Lunch in the city Excursion to the Hermitage The Hermitage, Russia’s most famous palace and museum, is located within a complex of several buildings along the riverbanks right in the city-center. Day 7
Breakfast at the hotel. Tsarskoye Selo (Pushkin) was the town containing a former Russian residence of the imperial family and visiting nobility. Tsarskoye Selo forms one of the World Heritage site. You will walk around the majestic Catherine palace (once the summer residence of the Russian tsars and now a museum) and see the d Amber Room - a reconstructed chamber decorated in amber panels backed with gold leaf and mirrors, located in the Catherine Palace of Tsarskoye Selo near Saint Petersburg. Constructed in the 18th century in Prussia, the original Amber Room was dismantled and eventually disappeared during WW II. Pavlovsk is the next point of our trip. It's the youngest of the grand Imperial estates around St. Petersburg. Named in honour of Tsar Pavel, this fine neo-classical palace and its extensive landscaped gardens are stamped with his taste and even more so with that of his wife, the German-born Maria Feodorovna.
